August Rush is a type of modern fable. It's far too heavily reliant on its melodramatic side, which can quite plainly test one's patience with its blatant forced artificiality. The real wonderful aspects of the film are mostly technical. Namely the audio editing, crucially important to this film, which succesfully builds up an excellent atmosphere."
