Let's face it. There is no way Inside Out is not going to win this one. Why change the trend of Pixar's domination of this category? Inside Out is a film with an original concept, and a charming storyline that works simultaneously for a young audience and an adult one in different ways. To be fair, however, it is actually not unlike so many of the other films Pixar has made since Toy Story. A family moving to another house. Two characters trying to make their way back to their home base for the benefit of the kid, that is widely unaware of their existance. Heck, this actually pretty much is Toy Story.
Anomalisa on the other hand is a stunning, creative and very intelligent mature animation film, complete with remarkable experimentation on this particular cinematic medium. This film should most likely have been nominated for a Best Picture Oscar, and not just an Animated Feature one. It's fair to say that of all the films nominated in any category, it is by far one of the most interesting.
