6 Films from the 2015 MittelCinemaFest - Italian Film Festival

For the third consecutive year, the MITTELCINEMAFEST - ITALIAN FILM FESTIVAL aimed to take the best of contemporary cinema to the big screens of the Czech Republic. The Prague programme ran in Kino Lucerna, December 2-6 and this year, for the first time, it will also run in Brno, December 9-11.

The festival was well attended, particularly with a packed out in the occasion of the opening film which was CRISTINA COMENCINI's LATIN LOVER, and served on a silver platter a good, solid variety of genre and films from interesting Italian auteurs that dealt with different themes and issues, which served as a representation of the contemporary Italian cinematic landscape.

There was a surplus of films set in the countryside, a noticeable growing awareness of female issues and sensibilities and some unique ideas. CineCola was fortunate enough to be invited to some of the screenings, and together with some of the films viewed at previously seen at previous film festivals, events or screenings throughout the year, we are able to sum up this year's MITTLECINEMAFEST with short reviews of six of the film screened in Prague in the past few days.

Unfortunately, the feature does not include DON'T BE BAD, LONG LIVE THE BRIDE or CHLORIDE. However, it includes, LATIN LOVER, MY MOTHER, WONDEROUS BOCCACCIO, SWORN VIRGIN, ARIANNA and GIULIA AND US in the order in which they were screened.
