"A shady businessman down on his luck is chased by some dangerous Parisian gangsters he owes money to. When all hope seems lost, he randomly meets a beautiful woman who becomes his courageous guardian angel. 

Filmmaker Luc Besson seems particularly inspired in this film that is spurred on by its central relationship beauty and the beast type of relationship – and unusual and unlikely relationship that in ways recalls the childish innocence of the one in his previous film Leon, which too was surrounded by the dangerous world of violence. Aside from the thrilling intensity and action packed excitement and despite a lack of the sense of the real danger that is impending on its lead characters, Angel-A also makes use of a riveting and entertaining sense of humour. 

Impressively, it is also pure eye candy, making use of meticulous and impressive black and white photography."
