"Hanks and Howard team up again in the second Langdon film based on the second book by Dan Brown following up on the somewhat disappointing thriller The Da Vinci Code.
During the conclave meeting of Cardinals to elect the new Pope after the last was murdered, a nefarious organisation plans an antimatter bomb somewhere in the Vatican. Because of his knowledge in Vatican symbolism, Langdon is called up to help the investigations.
Much like the last film, Angels and Demons is let down by the inability of the film to find a good, solid balance to the intricate mystery and enigmas that made the success of Dan Brown's original novel with a suitable cinematic pace. Nevertheless, when viewed as a conspiracy type of action thriller, this film is actually provides a slightly better entertainment factor with more rewarding suspense and more gripping action sequences."
