"Two cops suspect a heist of 100 million dollars worth of heroin from their headquarters was an inside job. Internal Affairs gives them five days to track down those responsible for it, and their only initial lead is a call girl, a key witness in their investigation.
Filmmaker Michael Bay puts his distinctive action packed style at the service of the conventional cop buddy formula. However, in the end the storyline is so messy and clumsy that they only unique thing about Bad Boys is the amount of time given to the leading pair of Martin Lawrence and Will Smith to blab and improvise their dialogue - which seemingly wasn't good enough anyways, according to Michael Bay.
An underwhelming action comedy that much like other works in the filmmaker's filmography finds its only redeeming strengths in its technical side and spectacular CGI while finding its resolution through the lazy but effective gimmick of a gigantic explosion.
