Ridley Scott's Black Rain is incredibly clumsy. It's superficial screenplay is built around a number of stereotypical representations to the point of being borderline offensive. Even the so called good guys in the movie seem to stand as dull and two dimensional. The smoky settings and great cinematography in the film are quite appealing, but not enough to redeem the underwhelming narrative aspects of the story."
