"A writer moves into the former house of a man who hid a million dollars in it just before he was murdered. At the same time, she finds herself having to protect herself from a notorious killer on the loose, who goes by the name of The Bat. 

Crane Wilbur's The Bat is a typical example of a plain horror film titled with names of animals and where the action mostly takes place in a lavish and yet sinister looking mansion. There is very little that even the presence of Vincent Price, one of the greatest actors of the horror genre, can do to elevate the standards of a film that has very little out of the ordinary to show for itself from start to finish."
