Despite the obvious heavy lenience towards the horror and slasher genres that makes little mistake about the fact that its titular figure was an evil and despicable man, director Ian Merrick chooses to also employ a cold and factual approach to the film. This choice is conveyed by the production's strict policy of only telling facts that could be proven in the court of law. Nevertheless, by today's standards it feels weak and rather dull."
