"A boy, normal in every other way, was born without an immune system and as a result had to live in a plastic bubble all his life. After he becomes romantically attracted to the girl living next door, he struggles to find a way to be with her.
THE BOY IN THE PLASTIC BUBBLE is pretty sloppy from start to end, and the TV production is just rushed and doesn’t look too good.
However, JOHN TRAVOLTA’s early performance is a treat and he is really able to carry the film and the delicacy of his role. Not to mention that the film remains a novelty due to it featuring the actor's collaboration with director RANDAL KLEISER, who would direct him to superstardom in GREASE two years later."
