CRAZY PETE (Pierrot le Fou) (1965) - ♦♦♦♦

Directed by - Jean-Luc Godard

Written by - Jean-Luc Godard (based on the novel Obsession by Lionel White)

Starring - Jean-Paul Belmondo, Anna Karina

"Godard returns to the crime genre in this tale about a man, trying to get out of his burgeois marriage, who upon meeting an encaptivating woman who refers to him as Pierrot and with whom he strikes an immediate connection, begins a freewheeling affair. However, she is being chased by bloodthirsty mobsters, that threaten to end their love story and their lives. Godard turns the lack of preparation for this film into an exciting asset. He lets actors Belmondo and Karina improvise and share their great chemistry together without restricting his film and letting himself be influenced from anything between gritty independent style and glamorous Hollywood musicals."

Drama, France/Italy
