"DOM is a short film by WALERIAN BOROWCZYK and JAN LENICA that is now observed as a landmark of Polish animation as well as particularly representative of the Polish avant-garde animation period.

The film is only contextualized by the titular setting of a house, and a woman observing different impressionistic or expressionistic events that take place within it. More than anything, it is an affirmation of the varied techniques that are employed to construct a vivid and fascinating as well as sometimes bizarre type of animation that makes use of cut outs, collage and photography, mixed in with some effects that seem to recall the magical experimentation of GEORGES MELIES.

But aside from the technique itself, DOM is also kept together by the genuine unfolding of artistry that it presents, which is surprising, creative, exciting and can even be considered poetic."
