"A disgraced naval officer returns to service as a lowly minesweeper after Pearl Harbor. This is the typical film promoting the adventurous life of even a lowly sea man at war, even giving value to the death of such man as heroic. But while it lacks a lot of realism and it is outdated, but it comes with a welcome naïve air of nostalgic romanticism that is usually present in these quasi-propaganda films which were produced towards the end of the Second World War."
