"Based around the premise of Dante’s Divine Comedy, this is the story of a man who tries to reunite his family in the afterlife. Nevertheless, the work is much more sloppy than it is adventurous, despite it sounding incredibly exciting. This is a conscious choice of melodrama over action, a choice that would have seemed sensical had the film’s emotions seemed genuine and real. That is not so, and even the cast looks awkward in the process. The only redeeming factor comes from the stunning visuals and effects."
